OC of Ashulia, 'master mind' of 46 dead bodies burning during movement arrested
AFM Sayed, the mastermind behind the incident of taking the bodies in a van and setting them on fire after killing 46 people during the student movement in Ashulia, has been arrested.
He will appear before the International Tribunal on Thursday (October 31).
Earlier, he was arrested from Cox's Bazar and sent to Dhaka on Wednesday (October 30) night. Sayed is currently kept in Shahbag police station.
Until now police officer AFM Sayed had been hiding from the fear of arrest. He was known as a close man of former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. Sayed resorted to various tricks to avoid his responsibility in this incident, but the end was not saved.
The Awami League government fell due to the resignation and departure of Sheikh Hasina on August 5. Later that afternoon, several videos of more bodies being removed from a pile of dead bodies in Ashulia and then burnt, caused an uproar across the country.
