All political parties active in the anti-fascist movement of Bangladesh have come together to build a consensus against the presence of the head and various leaders of the fallen authoritarian government in India about 4 months ago and the country's various conspiratorial propaganda.

In the meeting, the political parties were asked for their opinions on the propaganda being carried out by the government against Bangladesh all over the world including India, the vandalism of the Assistant High Commission office in Agartala and the flag insult, and the false propaganda being carried out against the oppression of minorities in Bangladesh.

The meeting began at 4:30 pm on Wednesday (December 4) at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital. The meeting with the political parties, which lasted for about two hours, ended at 6:30 pm. Although the government was asked for its opinions on three issues in the meeting, the top leaders of the parties made statements on various national and international issues including the elections. Later, the Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus assured that necessary measures would be taken on all these issues.

The Chief Adviser earlier held a meeting with the leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement in Jamuna on Tuesday evening to counter the various domestic and foreign propaganda and conspiracies that have been happening recently. Tomorrow, a meeting is scheduled with the leaders of religious communities on the same issue.

Referring to the various Indian propaganda recently on Bangladesh, the Chief Adviser said, "We created a free and independent Bangladesh, but they want to erase it and go back to the previous one. They do not say with their mouths that the previous one was good, but their attitude is that the previous one was good. Their power is so great that they are able to lure people into it. Because of their fiction, people are expressing doubts about what kind of government this is.

Dr. Muhammad Yunus said, now our response should be to tell the world that we are one, what we have got, we have got together, we did not get it because of any ideology, we did not get it by pushing, we have uprooted those who were oppressing us. This should be highlighted in front of everyone, so that we can all do it together." This has become a big issue in our new Bangladesh's journey; it has become a matter of existence.

After the meeting, the right, left and Islamic parties all came out and said that they would deal with this situation together. The meeting was attended by representatives of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Jatiyo Nagarik Committee, Communist Party of Bangladesh, Democratic Revolutionary Party, Jatiya Party (Jafar), Bangladesh Socialist Party (BSAD), Citizens' Unity, Revolutionary Workers' Party, Gana Sanghati Andolan, Gana Odhikar Parishad, AB Party, Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis, Jamiat-e-Ulama-e-Islam, NPP and several other political parties.

After the meeting, Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul told the media that everyone said one thing, we no longer have any room to think that we are powerless, weak, or kneeling. We will remain united against any kind of propaganda and incitement and will keep our unity intact. We will remain courageous, and if there is any propaganda or provocation in the future, we will continue to try to keep our unity stronger.

BNP, one of the largest political parties in the country, has also announced its unanimity with the government. BNP Standing Committee Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said, "We have expressed our unanimity with the interim government. Just as the government was dismissed through a mass uprising in August, we will now confront all those who are supporting them." The Chief Adviser said that he will take appropriate steps to create national unity. All of us political parties who were here today have agreed to establish national unity.

Various student organizations have called for unity among all student organizations in the country to confront all conspiracies against Bangladesh. Stating that there is no alternative to unity in the current situation, the central leaders of the student organizations of the political parties made this announcement.

They made this announcement at the 'Post-Revolutionary Student Unity' rally organized by the Jagannath University Journalist Alliance on Wednesday (December 4).

At the rally, Bangladesh Jatiyotabadi Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib said, in the current situation, all student organizations in the country must promise to work shoulder to shoulder. On behalf of the Chhatra Dal, I am announcing this; we will walk the path with everyone when the country is tired. We completely agree with the call for unity that has come. BNP is supporting unity all the way.

Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Central President Manjurul Islam, describing the call for unity by the Journalist Alliance in the current situation of Bangladesh as commendable, said, in the movement of ‘24, the government attacked the entire student population with its state forces. Later, victory was assured due to the unity of the students and the public. Without this unity, the overall development of the nation is not possible.

Convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Hasnat Abdullah said, "The way we are blaming Hasina in the dock now, if we are not united, those on this stage in the future will have to stand in the dock in the same way. Therefore, this mass upsurge cannot be allowed to fail. We have to remain united like steel regarding the integrity of Bangladesh. The Awami League government has ruled Dhaka with Delhi as its Qibla."

Convener of the Bangladesh Jatiyo Chattra Samity Saiful Islam said, "The student organizations that protested after the fall of Sheikh Hasina have been underestimated. No student organization's opinion was taken in forming the government. A few students were called to Ganabhaban to form the government.

What will be the future of Bangladesh will have to be decided by discussing with all student organizations. We will all unite and decide the future of Bangladesh."

Central President of the Chattra Odhikar Parishad Bin Yamin Mollah said, "There was student unity, where did that unity go after the revolution." Why is this unity being called for again after 100 days of the movement? Those who are working in the government have not understood this for so long? Everyone will be needed to run the country. The students who have given their blood will have to be supported.

He said that the way BJP is behaving aggressively shows that we are truly in crisis. We will collectively support this government. At this time, he demanded the formation of a Jatiyo Chattra Parishad.

Samajtantrik Chhatra Front General Secretary Rafiquzzaman Farid said, Sheikh Hasina did not learn from Ayub Khan. Ayub Khan was able to stay in his country, and Hasina fled. Imperialist intervention in our country was there before and still is there. If we do not understand the conspiracy of India, the revolution will fail. We will not be divided by the instigation of the Indian media. We will not accept anyone's slavery. Those who want communal politics learn from history.

Jagannath University Journalists Association President Mahmudul Hasan Tanvir presided over the rally, which was moderated by Jagannath University Press Club President Subarna Assaif. Jagannath University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rezaul Karim, Justice for July JB convener Sajibur Rahman, Samajtantrik Chhatra Front General Secretary Rafiquzzaman Farid, Islami Chhatra Andolan Bangladesh President Nurul Bashar Azizi and Jagannath University leaders from various student organizations were present.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser to the interim government, said, "We were able to remove the most oppressing stone from our chest through the mass uprising of students and the public. We celebrated victory. But many people do not like our freedom, our independence. Efforts are being made to reverse it in various ways. Therefore, everyone must be united to establish the current reality of the country to the world.

He said this at a meeting with political party leaders at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Wednesday (December 4).

The chief adviser said, Durga Puja was celebrated peacefully across the country in October. We also participated in the joy of the puja. There was no chaos anywhere. Many people did not like that either. Efforts are being made to destabilize the country anew.

He said, "The Bangladesh that we are trying to build is being covered up and the story of another Bangladesh is being written. They are doing this all the time in various forms." It is not that it is now within one country, but has spread to certain big countries.'

Those who did not like our uprising want to erase it, want to present it to the world in a new way. We have to protect Bangladesh from the terrible things that are happening here. They want to come forward to protect it. Now we all have to unite to prove them false or establish reality. This is not a matter of any particular political ideology. It is a matter of our existence as a nation,' he added.

Addressing the leaders of political parties, Dr. Yunus said, you all understand well. We all have to do the work together, if we all come together, a collective force is created, this collective force is the reason for sitting with you.

Earlier, from 3:30 pm, leaders of different political parties started coming to the Foreign Service Academy one by one. A 5-member delegation led by BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain participated.

The delegation led by Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, comprising central leaders, participated in the meeting. Representatives of other political parties also attended the meeting.

However, the Jatiya Party was not invited by the government, said the party's Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu.

Earlier, the chief adviser held a meeting with the leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement in Jamuna on Tuesday (December 3) evening to discuss various ongoing issues in the country.

It is learned that the chief advisor will hold a meeting with leaders of religious communities tomorrow, Thursday.

Former Superintendent of Police (SP) Babul Akhter has been released from prison after nearly 3 years and seven months in the wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu murder case.

On Wednesday (December 4) at 5:35 pm, he left the Chattogram Central Jail by car. However, at this time, Babul Akhtar did not talk to anyone present including the media personnel.

Earlier, the chamber court upheld the bail granted by the High Court to former Superintendent of Police (SP) Babul Akhtar in the murder case of wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.

Earlier, former Superintendent of Police Babul Akhtar was granted bail by the High Court on Wednesday after spending almost three years and seven months in jail. Mitu's father Mosharraf Hossain appealed to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of his bail.

On August 14, Chattogram's third additional metropolitan session judge Md. SP Babul Akhtar applied for bail in Jasim Uddin's court. Later, on August 18, the judge denied his bail.

Incidentally, on the morning of June 5, 2016, Mitu, the wife of Chittagong Superintendent of Police Babul Akhtar, was shot and hacked to death while going to drop her son in the school bus at GEC intersection in Chattogram city.

SP Babul Akhtar was transferred from Chattogram a few days before the incident. The murder took place in Chattogram immediately after he went to join the workplace in Dhaka. After three and a half years of investigation after the incident, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) got the charge of investigating the case in January 2020 on the orders of the court.

Then in May 2021, PBI said that wife Mitu was killed in Babul Akhtar's 'plan'. And for this, Babul "gave three lakh taka through people" to the murderers.

Later the final report was given in Babul's case and Mitu's father filed another case. However, after Mitu's father's case failed in court, Babul's case was revived. Babul was arrested by PBI in May 2021.

On September 13, 2022, PBI submitted the charge sheet in the court in that case. Seven people including Babul were accused.

Then on October 10 of that year, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Chittagong accepted the complaint.

On April 9 last year, Mitu's father, former police officer Mosharraf Hossain, testified in the case.

The case is currently under trial in the court of Chittagong Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Jasim Uddin.

Of the 97 witnesses in the case, the testimony of 52 including Mitu's mother Shaheda Mosharraf has already been completed.

Babul Akhtar applied for bail in the Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court of Chattogram on August 14. When the judge refused, his lawyers approached the High Court.
