Religious leaders agree against domestic and foreign conspiracies
Religious leaders of all communities in the country have agreed to remain united against various domestic and foreign propaganda and conspiracies.
On Thursday (December 5) evening, the religious leaders told reporters after a meeting with Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital.
Avinash Mitra, assistant seceretary of Ramna Harichand Temple, said, "There is no division among us who are in Bangladesh. But where is the division? Those who are creating division are entering us and spreading propaganda abroad. We do not want them to achieve their interests. This is Bangladesh. We are all equally united here. There is no problem. We urge you to take action after making sure that those who killed our lawyer brother are Hindus, Muslims or evil people."
Bhikkhu Sunanda Priyo, general secretary of the Bangladesh Buddhist Federation, said, "Communal harmony should be maintained in the country." We should live in harmony. This is our tradition. The Chief Adviser should take action on this matter. He (the Chief Adviser) has listened to us carefully.
Albert Rosario, the head priest of Ramna St. Mary's Cathedral, said, "We are in solidarity with what the political parties said yesterday. We are going through a sensitive time. We have to remain united at this time."
He said, "The wounds created in the minds of the people due to the ISKCON incident must be removed. Many of those who are suffering and angry over this incident have not come today. I have been saying that the Chief Adviser should sit with them."
I also said that we should organize such an event so that people all over the world know that the people of Bangladesh are in communal harmony, they live in harmony, they walk together. The people of the country have shown a lot of patience in the case of the death of the advocate. Even then, some Indian media outlets have broadcast provocative news that does not match reality.
Albert Rosario said, "Our ISKCON brother who is arrested and in jail, if there is any way open under the law, his bail will be considered." Garo priest Johnson Muri Kamal said, "We are united. We will resist the media that is spreading propaganda. We are united. We will cooperate with this government." As-Sunnah Foundation Chairman Sheikh Ahmadullah said, "Leaders of different religions have come here in response to the call of the Chief Adviser. They have expressed their situation about how the people of Bangladesh are doing - especially our followers of other religions other than Muslims. "We have noticed that everyone here is maintaining a wonderful religious atmosphere. We all spoke openly about how to maintain that. The Chief Adviser listened to our words attentively." This leading scholar of the country said, "When we see minorities being persecuted, we should pay attention to that place. Our minority brothers in our country are safe and will be safer. Just as the government is working to keep them safe, religious leaders are also working." We basically tried to give this message to the Chief Adviser: We are united and will remain united.
