There had been tension between BGB and BSF at the Chapainawabganj border since Monday (January 6) over the construction of a barbed wire fence on the border. After several rounds of flag meetings, BGB and BSF took a face-to-face position on Wednesday (January 8). Tensions increased at the border.

Meanwhile, local residents of the area also joined the BGB to protect the country's soil. At 12 noon, a local was seen sitting with a sickle with the BGB at the Chapainawabganj border. His gaze was towards the border. Ignoring the bloodshot eyes of the BSF, the person's position with a sickle was just like that of Titumir of the Bamboo Fort.

But who is this fearless patriot?

After this incident, Barta24.com tried to find out the identity of the person. The name of the person sitting with a sickle is Md. Bablu Haque (35). He is a farmer by profession. He is a resident of Kaliganj village in Binodpur union of Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district.

A local was seen sitting with a sickle with the BGB

While talking to Barta24.com, he said that his house is about 300 yards away from the border. For the past few days, there had been a dispute with the BGB and BSF over the construction of a barbed wire fence. He could not bear to see all this in front of his eyes.

Md. Bablu Haque said, when the BSF camp was set up on Wednesday morning, we also took up a position by digging a ditch. About 10-15 ordinary people went and dug a canal. There were thousands of people from a few villages behind. In the morning, I was sitting there all day by digging a ditch. In the morning, I went to work in the field with a sickle. So I was sitting there with that. I can't take pictures in the morning.

He also said that a large number of BSF personnel took up positions on the border in the morning and the surrounding villages were informed. Thousands of people gathered immediately. The farmers present in the field started digging semi-bunkers. After that, after holding flag meetings with the BSF, the BSF stopped the construction of the barbed wire fence.

Md. Bablu Haque (35) is a farmer by profession and is the father of 4 children. He lives with his wife, 3 sons and 1 daughter.

It is worth noting that last Monday, the BSF illegally started digging soil and constructing a barbed wire fence within 100 yards of the no-man's land on the Indian side of the border without any discussion. The BGB protested and stopped this. Tension arose on the border. At one stage, both forces deployed additional members on the border and the locals took a stand with the BGB to resist the illegal activities of the BSF to protect the sovereignty of the country. Similarly, Indian citizens are also seen taking a stand with the BSF.

The BSF agreed to this in the third round of flag meetings with the BGB on Wednesday afternoon regarding the tense situation surrounding the construction of the barbed wire fence. The BGB said that the situation in the area is currently normal.

Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, commander of the 59th BGB Battalion in Chapainawabganj, told Barta24.com that it is a risky task. But it is dangerous to move forward on the frontline or near the zero line without any security measures, especially helmets and bulletproof jackets. Both the people of the country and we love the country. But until the BGB fails, ordinary people should not move forward on such a frontline. I will appeal to the people of the country that no one else should be inspired to take such a risk after seeing this scene. He also said that the BGB is working diligently to protect the country's borders.

He also said that the local people have supported us in such a situation. For this, the BGB is grateful to them. We thank the local people.
