Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the problem is that those who talk about selling gas have forgotten the past.
She said, “It can never happen that Sheikh Hasina would compromise any interest of Bangladesh. We see the interests of our country first. We are slowly solving all the problems that we had.”
The Prime Minister was responding to a question regarding LPG gas exports to India at a press conference held at Ganabhaban on Wednesday.
The press conference was held to share the experiences of attending the UN General Assembly and visiting India recently with the countrymen.
The Prime Minister said LPG is not natural gas. It is not produced in our country. LPG is produced from the imported crude oil. And only a little LPG along with some octane is produced from the gas we extract. Besides, we are also importing LNG gas now.
She said, “We shall import LPG gas from abroad and export it to India after processing. It's not natural gas. It is like the other products that we export. There is no scope for misunderstanding.”
