Rabab Fatema joins as the permanent representative to UN

Newly appointed permanent representative to UN and Ambassador Rabab Fatema has joined in his new work place. On last Friday (Nov.29) after arriving in New York she joined the Mission.

In current week she will meet UN secretary general Anatanio Guettress and took over her charge formally, learnt from Mission sources. 

She is going to replace Musaud bin Momen. Earlier she was Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan. On the other hand Masud bin Momen will join in the foreign ministry as the secretary (bi-lateral). Later on he will replace Sahhidul Haque as the foreign secretary. Experienced diplomat Rabab Fatema is the 14th permanent of Bangladesh representative to UN. 

Learnt from the sources of foreign ministry, Ambassador Rabab Fatem joined in Foreign Service cadre in 1986. In her colorful career she earlier also served in Geneva, Kolkata and Beijing. Besides, she also worked in some international agencies.

She studied in Tufts university of USA and obtained post graduation in International Relations.

Ambassador Rabab is the wife of diplomat Kazi Imtiaj Hossain, now Ambassador to France. Earlier Ambassador Imtiaj served as the Consul General at Bangladesh Consulate in New York. They have got one daughter.
