Cricketer Nasir got bail with his wife and mother-in-law after surrender
Dhaka: Cricketer Nasir Hossain, his wife Tamima Sultana Tammi and mother-in-law Sumi Akhter have been granted bail in a case of marrying someone else's wife without getting a divorce.
They surrendered in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim on Sunday (October 31) morning and applied for bail.
After the hearing, the court granted bail to each accused on a bond of Tk. 10,000.
On September 30, the investigating officer of the case PBI's Inspector of Police Sheikh Mohammad Mizanur Rahman filed a report in the court accusing the three.
According to the report, the divorce papers of Tamima's ex-husband Rakib Hasan have been forged. Tamima did not divorce Rakib before marrying Nasir. It has been initially proved that they have committed a crime under Section 468/471/494/497/500/34 by having an illicit marital relationship while having a husband.
On February 24, a man named Rakib Hasan filed a case claiming that he was Tammi's husband.
According to the complaint, Tammi and Rakib got married on February 26, 2011. They also have an 8-year-old daughter. Tammi is a cabin crew by profession.
