The Afghans demolishes Namibia
Dhaka: Namibia took to the field with the aim of showing surprise again. But this time the African team could not give birth to a fairy tale. They lost to Afghanistan by a big margin of 62 runs.
Batting for 161, Namibia were bowled out for 98 for nine. David Weiss scored a personal best of 26 for the team. He was joined by John Nicole Lofty-Eaton (14), Captain Gerhard Erasmus (12) and Ruben Trumpelman (12).
Naveen-ul-Haq and Hamid Hasan took 3 wickets each for the Afghans. Gulbadin Naib took two wickets.
Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Mohammad Shahzad played an innings of 45 runs. He was accompanied by Hazratullah Zazai (33), Captain Mohammad Nabi (32 *) and Asghar Afghan (31). Asghar Afghan retired after this win. This was his last match.
