Dhaka: Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson batted hard. India lost to New Zealand by 8 wickets due to their batting prowess. The Kiwis won with 33 balls to spare.
With this, India lost two matches in a row in the Super Twelve of the T20 World Cup. The Indians lost their first match to Pakistan by ten wickets.
New Zealand lost just two wickets in 14.3 overs thanks to the batting strength of Daryl Mitchell and Kane Williamson to reach the target of 111 runs.
Daryl played 4 boundaries and 3 sixes in 35 balls in an innings of 49 runs. Ken Williamson remained unbeaten on an average of 33 * off 31 balls with 3 boundaries. And 20 runs came from the bat of opener Martin Guptill.
After batting, bowling was not good in India. Only Jaspreet Bumrah took two wickets for them.
India's batting was not good at all. They could not freeze the match against New Zealand. Their fight became a profession like the Australia-England match. In the beginning, Virat Kohli's team was reduced to 110 runs for 8 wickets.
The Indian batsmen could not stand in front of the bowling cannon of Trent Bolt-Ish Sodhi. The team started batting disaster with 11 runs. After the departure of Ishan Kishan, the wickets started falling like ninepins with the wheel of the run goes to a halt. Four wickets were lost for 48 runs. And they lost 5 wickets to make 70 runs. India lost 6 wickets and somehow made 110 runs.
Rabindra Jadeja remained unbeaten with a personal best of 26 * for India. Hardik Pandya scored 23 runs. Lokesh Rahul added 18, Rohit Sharma 14 and Biswa Panth 12 runs.
Trent Boult took 3 wickets for 20 runs. Two wickets went to Ish Sodhi's pocket. Tim Southee and Adam Milne got one wicket each.
