Four time champion the Comilla Victorians are. Every time they played final the trophy had been in their hands. Among them they crowned twice by defeating Barishal. But this time, Barishal's fate didn’t betray. They just crushed Comilla and win the title BPL 2024. Barishal of Tamim Iqbal has upright the trophy in the sky by defeating Comilla by 6 wickets.

Comilla's batting at Mirpur ground, famed as home of cricket, was haphazard from the very beginning. Sunil Narine saw the pavilion in second over after getting life in the first over. Obed McCoy, who failed to collect his catch in the first time, took Narine's way to home with a brilliant catch in the second.

Comilla was dreaming with Liton Das and Tawhid Hridoy’s batting. But what's the point! Both were caught by Mahmudullah at deep third while

James Fuller was bowling. Liton (16) and Hridoy (15) was their earnings. Though this pair made a record in the first qualifier and won the match .

After losing the first three batters at the end of the power play, Comilla's score stood at 49 runs. However, batting disaster didn’t not end there. Johnson Charles and Moeen Ali, two foreigners who came down to bat in the middle order, could not give the team much confidence. Mahidul Islam, a well-known face of domestic cricket, was trying to keep Comilla's run wheels moving by batting slowly. Tried to get out of the shell by hitting two four-sixes. However, in the rush to get runs, he had to be bowled while scooping Saifuddin's ball. 38 runs came from his bat before returning. In the end, Andre Russell's 27 runs in 4 sixes from 14 balls made Comilla's collection 150.

In the end, Comilla stopped at 154 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.

James Fuller took maximum 2 wickets for Barisal at the cost of 43 runs.

Barishal's two openers, Tamim Iqbal and Mehdi Hasan Miraj, started to hit hard Comilla's bowlers from the beginning. Barisal accumulated 76 runs on the scoreboard in 8 overs in their batting. The pair broke when Tamim was bowled by Moeen Ali in the last ball of the eighth over.

Tamim played a brilliant innings of 39 runs off 26 balls with three fours and sixes before returning. Due to which Tamim, who scored 492 runs in 15 matches, topped Comilla's Tawhid Hriday and became the highest run scorer of the tournament.

After Tamim's return, Miraj (29) lost his wickets while playing wildly. Johnson Charles, who was on long-on caought the ball.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Kyle Myers took charge of Barishal's batting after the return of the two openers. In between, Comilla got a chance to get Myers out twice but failed. Comilla's fielders dropped Myers' catch twice at Moeen's ball. Myers brought Barishal within touching distance of victory by getting life twice.

Andre Russell scored 21 runs in the 15th over with two four-sixes. He left the crease in 46 runs with 5 fours and 2 sixes before Moeen Ali caught andM ustafizur Rahman bowled.

Mushfiq also got out by scoring 13 runs in the same over by Mustafiz.

However, David Miller (8*) and Mahmudullah (7*) left the field after winning against Barishal.

The match took the form of a derby. The biggest stars of the two teams, Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, have turned from friends to nemesis after a long time. In this year's BPL, it has reached a new level. Keeping that aside, the social media battle between Rangpur and Barishal was also quite 'classic'. As a result, the heat was spreading before the second qualifier match of the two teams. Tamim Iqbal had the last laugh in that duel. His team Fortune Barishal defeated Rangpur by 6 wickets in the final.

Barishal holds the record for the most number of final appearances among teams that have never won the title. It played three times in the final under different names. Fortune was calling Barishal for the fourth final. Standing in front of such a challenge was Rangpur Riders, who finished the group stage of BPL from the top. In such a situation, Tamim Iqbal's team did not move.

On this day, the luck of the toss also accompanied Tamim's team. Captain Tamim won the toss and sent Rangpur into bat. Rangpur got into trouble at the beginning when they came to bat. Be it the makeshift opener Sheikh Mahdi, or Shakib Al Hasan, who was the talk of the town before the match, none of them could reach double figures; Mohammad Saifuddin returned both. Then when Rony Talukdar was sent back by Kyle Myers, Rangpur was sitting on three wickets in the power play.

Rangpur was knocked out of that match and couldn't come back; three in the power play, two more wickets in the next four overs. One of those wickets went to Jimmy Neesham, who scored 28 off 22 balls for Rangpur's beacon of hope. After his departure, Mohammad Nabi and Captain Nurul Hasan tried a little to save the team from danger. However, both departed in the 15th over bowled by James Fuller.

At that time it was very difficult for Rangpur to touch three figures. The team's run from 77-7 to 149 was stopped by the bat of Shamim Patwari. He scored 59 off 24 balls with 5 fours and sixes. Based on that, Rangpur scored 72 runs in the last 31 balls and got the capital of the fight.

The goal was not big. Barishal sent Tamim Iqbal along with Mehdi Hasan Miraj in the opening pair to chase the target of 150 runs. However, that decision did not work for them. The opening pair didn't last long, Mirage also returned quickly.

There was a lot of talk about Tamim's match-up with Fazal Haq Farooqui. It is not normal for Tamim to be dismissed four times in the last four meetings. However, Tamim did not lose his wicket to him today. But he gave that opportunity less. Miraj was on strike in Farooqui's first over. Then in the third over, Tamim played Farooq's three balls. He picked up 1 run. But he returned to Abu Haider Rony's ball and gave a catch to Nabi at mid-off. In that over, Miraj was also caught in the LBW trap.

The next story is only of Mushfiqur Rahim. He played an innings of 47 runs from 38 balls, batted according to the needs of the team, sometimes played with understanding of the situation. Soumya Sarkar, Kyle Myers, David Millers on the other side. Myers blew the storm over Rangpur. His crucial cameo of 28 off 15 balls kept the team in danger after Soumya Sarkar's departure. Mushfiq was with him! Myers retired just before the win. But Mushfiq did not give up. He took the team to the port of victory, and then he stopped.

That's why the team that has never won a title is one step away from winning the title. Their mission this time in the final against Cumilla on Friday is to upset them.

Cumilla Victorians won the challenge of Rangpur Riders by 186 runs in the final. Liton Das's Cumilla is one step away from a hat-trick of titles. Cumilla, the most successful team in BPL history, won by 6 wickets in the incredible duo of Liton-Hridoy.

Losing the toss and batting first, Rangpur lost 3 wickets within 27 runs and was in danger. However, they got a challenging collection in Jimmy Neesham's incredible innings of 97 runs with 8 fours and 7 sixes. Their score in 20 overs stood at 185 for 6 wickets.

Coming down to reply, Cumilla found Sunil Narine on the first ball. He was caught behind the opposite wicket while pulling Fazlhaq Farooqui's short length ball. However, Liton Das and Tawheed, who dropped to third, handled the shock of defeating Narine with the fortitude of the four-time champions. These two batsmen scored 61 runs in the power play.

Liton-Hridoy’s power hitting kept Cumilla moving forward with great power. Both of them picked up fifty by making an umbrella for the bowlers of Rangpur. 143 runs came from the pair of Liton-Hridoy for the second wicket. This is now Cumilla's biggest pair record in BPL. The duo broke when Shakib got caught in the palm of Abu Haider Rony's last ball of the 15th over. His 64 off 43 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes came from his bat before returning.

Liton was caught by Neesham at long on after scoring 83 runs off Sheikh Mehdi. The Cumilla captain completed the innings with 9 fours and four huge sixes.

However, before the return of Hriday-Litton, Cumilla was brought to the threshold of victory. Moeen Ali's 5-ball cameo of 12 not out runs sealed the win.
