India-Pakistan duel on reserve day in rain
India-Pakistan match interrupted once again by rain! This time, however, it did not mar at all. Due to the fear of rain, a reserve day was kept for this match in advance. Both teams will enter the field again at the same time today. The game will start today from exactly where India's batting stopped due to rain today.
But the bad news is, today too 'as usual' rain is forecast in Colombo. So there is a lot of doubt about how smoothly the cricket lovers can enjoy the duel between the two arch rivals on Reserve Day.
Earlier, the India-Pakistan match in the group stage was washed away by rain. India was able to play their full 50 overs after several rain interruptions, but due to the rain, Pakistan did not get a chance to bat.
To ensure that arguably the most awaited match of the tournament is not washed away again, a reserve day is kept for matches between the two teams in the Super Four. Cloudy weather in Colombo eventually dragged the match to Reserve Day.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam invited India to bat after winning the toss. After a flying start with the bats of the two openers, India scored 147 for 2 in 24.1 overs. After that, it started raining.
India lost a little bit by making the match reserve day! Now the cricketers of the country have to take the pressure of playing for three consecutive days. Today they have to play, tomorrow they have to fight again against Pakistan. The next day, Rohit Sharma's team will face Sri Lanka in their second Super Four match on September 12.
