Legal notice to take Hathuru's relieve to include Tamim in the World Cup team
Bangladesh national cricket team head coach Chandika Hathurusingha has been sent a legal notice to include dashing batsman Tamim Iqbal in the World Cup squad.
On Wednesday (September 27), Supreme Court lawyer Russell Al Mamun sent the notice on behalf of Abdullah Al Mamun, General Secretary of Bangladesh Cricket Support Group. This notice was sent to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the 15-member World Cup squad on Tuesday (September 26) after many dramas throughout the day, excluding experienced opener Tamim Iqbal. Thousands of cricket fans in the country are angry with BCB for excluding Tamim from the World Cup squad.
They can't accept that dashing batsman Tamim is not in the World Cup team. Fans said that even though Tamim was not fully fit, a big tournament like the World Cup needed an experienced Tamim. Some also commented that the Bangladesh team will suffer in the World Cup without Tamim.
However, BCB has informed that Tamim is not in the World Cup squad due to fitness issues. The team management did not want to take any risk with him.
Meanwhile, on the Tamim issue, the former captain of the Bangladesh team, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, wrote in a status from his personal Facebook account that everyone may be giving a wrong information that Tamim has been dropped. The truth is that Tamim did not want to be in the team. There is a big difference between not being in the team and not wanting to be. I think Tamim deserves so much respect. Now the question may be why Tamim did not want to be in the team. Actually I don't have that answer. Only Tamim can say that.
