Bangladesh beat India to reach SAFF Championship final
A goal, what an effort they made for themselves. Despite repeatedly attacking India, under 19 girls of Bangladesh could not swallow the gaps in the defense. At one time, it seemed that Saiful Bari Titu's footballers would have to leave the field by sharing points with India. But Sagarika did not let that happen.
Although they kept supporters who came to watch the game in Kamalapur waited for a long time, she made them happy at the end. Earlier she missed a couple of changes but the confired the team's victory by a great goal she scored in the injury time. The defending champions beat India 1-0 to reach in the final of the SAFF Under-19 Women's Championship.
Bangladesh confirmed a 3-1 win over Nepal in the previous match, but the girls had to wait for the winning the match agaist India till the last minute of the match. India was handling the attack of Bangladesh very efficiently. However, Afida Khandaker's team did not make any less effort. They attacked the opponent's defense repeatedly for a goal.
India has also come on the counter-attack. They have also shaken the defense of Bangladesh several times. However, It was understood that India's focus was more on Keeping the match goalless and sharing the points. They were almost successful in that plan. Bangladesh's ball couldn't touch the opponent's net till 90 minutes of the match. But when an extra four minutes added to the match as injury time, Bangladesh has used that oppirtunity very well.
Sagarika took control of the ball from the midfield and went ahead for the goal. Finding no one around, she decided to take a shot for the goal herself. And she made it. The angular shot taken by her took shelter in the net by defeating the Indian goalkeeper. Bangladesh gets the occasion to celebrate.
