England moves to Semi beating Switzerland in tie-breaker
Harry Kene team defeated Switzerland in the tiebreaker to reach the semi-finals of the competition. England and Switzerland meet in the quarter-finals of the European Championship in Dusseldorf on Saturday night. If the score is tied at 1-1 in extra time after the scheduled time, the match will be played as a tiebreaker. England later won 5-3.
Neither team saw a goal in the first half of the match. After returning from the break, Switzerland got a goal in the 76th minute. Vargas receives the ball just outside the box. Brel Imbola ran onto his extended ball and headed the ball towards the goal post. Switzerland advanced.
After falling behind, England coach Gareth Southgate made three changes. However, Shaka, who was already there, scored the goal. English goalscorer Shaka came to take the third shot. He also scored for the Three Lions. Shaqiri scored the third shot for the Swiss to make it 2-3.
Ivan Toney scored in the fourth shot to give England a 4-2 lead. Anthony scored for the Swiss to reduce the deficit to 4-3. When Alexander Arnold scored in the fifth shot, England won 5-3.
