Abdus Salam Murshedi became the senior vice-president of Bangladesh Football Federation in 2008. This former footballer has stepped down from that post.

The Bangladesh Football Federation said this in a statement today. He was also the head of the finance committee and the referees committee of the federation. Salam also left these two positions. In a statement, BFF said this.

A day after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, Bangladesh Football Ultras protested at the main gate of BFF Bhavan last Wednesday. There they demanded the resignation of 3 BFF officails. Along with Salam Murshedi, BFF President Kazi Salauddin and Women Wing Chairman Mahfuza Akhter Kiran were also there. Among them, Salam was the first to resign.

There was also a FIFA complaint against him. General Secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag was banned last year due to the finance department scandal under him. As a result, he had to pay a fine of 10,000 Swiss francs or Tk. 13 lakh.

Apart from BFF, Salam had another identity, Member of Parliament. He got the post of Member of Parliament from Khulna-4 Constituency in the last parliamentary elections. He lost it after the fall of the government.
