Sheikh Hasina's government fell on August 5 in the face of student-people's protest against discrimination. 95.65 million dollars of remittances came to the country in 6 days including the previous 4 days and the next day. And from August 7 to 10 remittances came in the amount of 387.12 million dollars. There was a two-day weekend in between.

Those concerned said that expatriates announced remittance shutdown last month due to quota reform movement, internet and conflict. Due to this, the remittance flow decreased in that month which continued in the first week of this month. However, remittance flows increased after the fall of the government.

Meanwhile, expatriate inflows dropped significantly last July as it was the month after student protests and sacrifices. In July, remittances to the country reached 190 crore dollars, the lowest in the last 10 months.
