What Sports Adviser said about Shakib's security
Shakib Al Hasan is at the end of his international career. He ended his T20 career. He said that he wants to play the last match of his Test career in Mirpur. But it seems that it is not possible anymore.
First, BCB president Farooq Ahmed, then Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan also informed that even if the player Shakib is safe, it is not possible to provide security about public outrage.
Today, he faced the journalists and said, "The proper security of the player Shakib has to be ensured. However, it is unreasonable to ask for security assurances against the public anger against Shakib Al Hasan, a member of parliament of the fascist government.
He also said that Shakib should clarify his political position. Commentary of the Sports Adviser, "There are two identities of Shakib Al Hasan here. We must remember this. One identity as a player, another is a political identity. He has done MP election from Awami League. People have mixed reactions to both.”
Referring to Mashrafe bin Murtaza, he said, "I think he (Shaqib Al Hasan) needs to clear his place, from the political place. It is necessary to talk about his political position. Mashrafe bin Mortuza has already spoken.
Regarding security, he openly said that he will have security as a player. But at the end he was also reminded about the issue of public anger. His words, 'Now as a player, we must give the responsibility of providing security to a player. We will give it when we come to the country. We have said about the murder case in his name, the Ministry of Law has also said that if there is no connection, it can be excluded initially.
He also said, "But if there is anger among the people because of his political identity, then... I think I have five police constables and a gunman for my security. If 16 crore people of the country, 10 crore people have anger on me, then what security will these 5-6 people give me? In that case, if the people have any anger, then I have to reduce it with my words.
Earlier, after the BCB meeting last Thursday, President Farooq Ahmed spoke about the matter. He pushed the ball into the government's court. He said in this regard, 'The issue of security is not in the hands of BCB. He (Shakib) has to decide on this. The board cannot do anything about it. BCB cannot afford to provide personal security to a particular person. The issue of security must come from the highest level of government. BCB is not an agency, neither police nor RAB. The issue of security should come from the government.
