There is no problem for Shakib to return home: Sports Advisor
Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said there is no problem for cricketer Shakib Al Hasan to come to the country.
He told this to the reporters after meeting with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials on Sunday (October 13).
He said, he will play as a cricketer and he is a citizen of Bangladesh, I don't see any obstacle in his coming. But what you are talking about writing on the wall or what you see on social media, it is actually a matter of emotions. They also have that right. A democratic country has the constitutional right to do any kind of movement or anything.
Asif Mahmud said, "My request will not be to threaten anyone's safety." If there is a legal matter, the law moves at the speed of the law. I cannot comment on this. But safety should be given utmost respect. Since South Africa will come, we have to keep the environment good too. Otherwise, foreign countries will feel the lack of security to come to Bangladesh.
Shakib has not returned to the country till now after the political change on August 5. Although Bangladesh did not play at home during this time however, this all-rounder announced his retirement from Test and International T20 in Kanpur during the India series.
If everything goes well, the match against South Africa in Mirpur is going to be the last Test of his career. However, there is still controversy about it because Shakib wants adequate security while in the country. At the same time, he also demanded that he should not face any obstacle in leaving the country. Meanwhile, the Mirpur Test will start from October 21.
