Bangladesh-India match draw
That old picture. The whole time was dominated by Bangladesh with 1-0 lead but at the fag end equalized by tenacious Indian team led to drawn match. Bangladesh played out to a 1-1 goal draw with host India in their away Group E match of FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar Qualifiers round-2 held on Tuesday (Oct.15) evening at Salt Lake Jubo Bharati stadium, Kolkata.
It was a much improved performance by the Jamie Day’s side in the jam packed stadium following their outstanding performance against Qatar in home match.
In the day’s match, striker Saad Uddin gave Bangladesh a deserving lead in the 41st minute with a brilliant header after capitalizing on a free kick by skipper Jamal Bhuiyan.
Bangladesh created several chances in the second half. The boys in red and green hit the post as India’s Adil Khan saved a chip from Jibon from the goal-line in the 72nd minute.
However the boys in blue restored the equilizer in the 88th minute with defender Adil scored from a header following a corner to deny Bangladesh’s victory in the match.
Earlier, Bangladesh lost to Afghanistan by a lone goal in their qualifying opener.
In the whole match the defense of Bangladesh played very brilliantly that helped Bangladesh team to snatch a point from this WC qualifying match. So they deserve appreciation.
