Then is this the reason of Shakib ‘mystery’!

He not only violated BCB rules but also violated ICC rules. This ‘mistake’ is bigger. More grave. He got a proposal of match fixing over phone two year back from an International cricket gambler. But he did not agree to that proposal. But he committed mistake by not reporting the incident to ICC. As a punishment for that mistake the ban of International Cricket Council(ICC) is now hanging on him like a Damocles sword. For this reason he is not going on India tour, it is certain now. Within a day or two ICC is going to issue press release announcing his nature of punishment. This was reported on today (Oct.29) in the vernacular daily the Daily Samakal.

What was the matter?

About two years back an International cricket gambler proposed Shakib to fix an International match through a match referee. But Shakib did not agree.  As that match referee was already in the black list of ICC so his call record was tracked by ICC. Accordingly ICC wanted to know from Shakib whether that cricket gambler had contacted him. Shakib told the Anti- Corruption Suppression Unit of ICC (ACSU) that nothing mentionable happened.

Shakib committed the mistake there!

But when later on ICC presented his call record then Shakib could understand. He admitted his mistake. He further informed that practically he did not want to attach importance on it. So he did not inform ICC.

But the prevailing rules says that if any cricket player gets any proposal of match fixing then he must inform his concerned cricket board or ICC otherwise he is to be banned by ICC as punishment. Shakib has entangled in that mistake dilemma.

What BCB says?

No responsible official of BCB wanted to make comments at this moment. However, it is assumed that on Tuesday (Oct.29) BCB would clear the matter in the press conference. In that press conference BCB would announce its T20I team for India tour. There, it will be informed why Shakib is not going on India tour?

Why the matter took so much time to know?

The relation of BCB with Shakib is not pleasant in this moment. BCB is very much annoyed with Shakib over strike of the cricketers and his commercial agreement with GP.  Many are looking the matter of ICC banning of Shakib from a different angle. Easy logic on this matter is that definitely ICC will go for action against such high profile cricketer like Shakib with sufficient evidences. Probably ICC took such longer time to collect the evidences against Shakib Al Hassan – the ace all time all-rounder of Bangladesh cricket.
