Bangladesh won the first gold medal on the 2nd day of the 13th SA games in Kathmandu-Pokhara, Nepal. Dipu Chakma won the gold in Tayakando event.

On Monday (Dec.2) Dipu grabbed the medal. He won the gold in Tayakando 29+Pomes. Dipu of Rangamati defeated his Indian competitor. While standing on Podium, Bangladesh national anthem sounded. This is the first gold in current SA games so far.

Dipu Chakma has been serving in Bangladesh Army since 2005. Expressing his success Dipu said that, I cannot express my feeling. I always tried to give something to my country. Now that dream has been translated into reality.

However, the first medal was brought by Homaira Begum Antara in the current games. Antatra brought bronze medal in female Karate event.
