In the end, the fear came true!

The third and final T20I match in Lahore has been declared abandoned due to rain. The match referee declared the match abandoned at 3.58 P.M. PST. Due to rain, the toss could not be held at the scheduled time of noon. Though the rain did not come down again but the condition in the field did not allow despite visits by the two umpires. The ground was totally unfit to play. The match was declared abandoned after a two-hour wait. Pakistan won the first two matches of the three-match series.

Pakistan won by 5 wickets in the first match of the series. Pakistan had reached their targets of Bangladesh who scored 141 runs. Pakistan made it in the last over of the match. Shoaib Malik was the man of the match with an unbeaten half-century. In the second match of the series on the same ground, the innings of Bangladesh on January 25 was stopped by only 136 runs. Pakistan won the match by 9 wickets in a comfortable manner and also won the series. Skipper Babar Azam and veteran Mohammad Hafeez scored an unbeaten half-century in that match.

In the first two games of the series, the batting of Bangladesh has not been up to standard. The Bangladesh team's first phase of tour of the series ended with the last match of the series being abandoned in Lahore. In the first week of February, Bangladesh will again tour to Pakistan for the second phase of playing a Test match as part of the ICC Test Championship. The Test will be played in Rawalpindi on February 7. Then the third phase Bangladesh team will visit Pakistan in early April. In that round, Bangladesh will play one ODI and one Test match in Karachi.
