Noting that Bangladesh's debt-to-GDP ratio is very low and its reserves are steadily increasing, Planning Minister MA Mannan said Bangladesh has no fear of falling into a debt trap.

The Planning Minister was speaking as the chief guest at an online seminar on '72nd Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China' and '47th Anniversary of China-Bangladesh Diplomatic Relations' organized by the Association of Bangladesh-China Alumni ABCA on Monday (October 4).

Commenting that Bangladesh takes foreign loans with forethought, the Minister hoped that the bilateral diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and China would further enhance in the days to come. He also hoped that the investment of Chinese companies in Bangladesh and cooperation between the two governments would further increase.

He also hoped that the Chinese government would take all possible measures to repatriate Bangladeshi students studying in China.

Minister Counselor and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka Ian Huanglong was present as the special guest on the occasion. He said the Chinese government was working to bring back Bangladeshi students studying there. He also said that when the situation in Corona will be normal, they will be taken back.

Shahabul Haque, General Secretary of ABCA and Associate Professor of Shahjalal Science & Technology University gave the welcome speech. Former Ambassador of Bangladesh to China Humayun A.
