Iran and Pakistan have reportedly sent back at least 9,730 Afghan refugees in 4 days.
On Saturday (July 13), Afghanistan's media Amu TV published news about this.
Afghan refugees seeking refuge in Iran have been sent back to Afghanistan through the Silk Route in Nimroz and the Islam Kala border in Herat, the report said, citing the Taliban-run Ministry of Refugees.
Besides, Afghan refugees who have taken refuge in Pakistan have been sent home through Spin Boldock and Torkham border.
According to the Ministry of Refugee Affairs of Afghanistan, 532 members of 95 families and 821 Afghan refugees from 152 families were sent back to the country in 3 days through the Torkham border.
Besides, 4 thousand 797 Afghan refugees have been sent back through Islam Qala border in Herat. Along with this, 3 thousand 580 Afghan refugees were sent through the Nimroz border silk route.
Meanwhile, the previous week UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi met with Afghan refugees taking refuge in Pakistan and Pakistani officials.
At this time, he requested the Pakistani authorities not to send the Afghan refugees back to their country.
However, Pakistan's foreign ministry rejected the UN High Commissioner's call and said it would continue to send unlisted Afghan refugees back to their home country.
