The joyful birth celebration of Lord Krishna popularly known as Janmashtami was held on Tuesday(August 11) here through on line discussion and other formalities through observing hygiene rules due to Covid -19. It is the 5246th birth anniversary of Lord Krishna.
A zoom cloud discussion meeting on the teachings of Lord Krishna was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner(DC) of Faridpur. A number of leading religious personalities including Chief priest of Ramkrishna Mission, Faridpur unit, Chief of Faridpur Sree angan and Chief of ISKCON were connected who elaborately discussed on the various aspect of the teachings of Lord Krishna.
DC Atul Sarkar chaired the meeting and also moderated the three hour long discussion.
Besides, Police Super Md. Alimuzzaman, district Awami League president Advocate Subal Chandra Saha, educationist Prof. Md. Shahjahan, Faridpur Puja Udjapan Parishad president Dr. Jashoda Jiban Devnath and Govt. Yasin College Principal Prof. Shila Rani Mandal took part in the discussion.
Speakers at the discussion meeting stressed need to follow the ideals and teachings of Lord Krishna to maintain peace, harmony and stability in the society consisting people of different cast and creeds. They also maintained that Bangladesh is a unique example of communal harmony.
It was disclosed in the meeting that Lord Krishna made his divine appearance in the mid night of 3328 B.C.
