In the coming academic year, students will be admitted in all classes of public and private schools through lottery. Applications for admission in government secondary schools of the country including Dhaka will start from the 15th of this month and will continue till the 28th. This application can be made only online (https://gsa.teletalk.com.bd).

No admission form will be distributed from the school this time due to coronavirus. Students will be selected for admission through online lottery on December 30.

On Friday (December 11), the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) issued the notification for admission in the 2021 academic year.

The government has reduced the price of public-private school admission forms in the Corona pandemic. In government secondary schools it has been reduced to Tk. 110 from Tk.170 and in private schools Tk. 150 from Tk. 200 which can be given only through message from Teletalk prepaid mobile phone.

Once again, the schools will be divided in three clusters or groups (A, B and C). At the time of application a student will be able to give preference for admission to five schools in a bunch. Then a school will be selected through lottery.

Applicants will also get a list of police station-based educational institutions at the time of application.

Incidentally, in schools across the country, students were admitted to the first class through lottery, but students from the second to the eighth class were admitted through written test. Admission to Class IX is based on Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examination results (GPA). But due to Corona, JSC and JDC examinations are not being held this year. Therefore, even in the ninth class, there is no opportunity for admission of students on the basis of JSC and JDC results.
