Dhaka: The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has issued instructions for admission in the lottery from class I to class IX in private educational institutions.

On Saturday (December 12) the directive signed Deputy Inspector (College-2) Enamul Haque Howlader was issued.

According to the directive, it has been decided to select students through lottery for admission in private educational institutions from class I to class IX in 2021 academic year due to Covid-19 virus. In the 2021 academic year, a fee of Tk. 150 has been fixed for private secondary schools through lottery. According to the Admission Policy-2020, private schools will manage the admission process through lottery under their own management. Specific instructions have to be followed in case of admission.

Instructions:

1. The Admission Supervision and Examination Committee should be informed by fixing the date of the lottery.

2. Arrangements should be made to conduct lottery activities while maintaining social distance in compliance with health rules.

3. In order to ensure transparency and accountability in lottery activities, it is necessary to ensure the supervision and monitoring of admissions formed in accordance with the policy, in the presence of the school admission management committee, parent representative, management committee representative and teacher representative.

4. In order to avoid public gatherings due to the Corona situation, the lottery process should be arranged to be broadcast live on Facebook Live or any other social media.

5. Above all, it is necessary to ensure that the student selection process through the lottery is not questioned in any way.

Besides, the instructions issued by the Ministry of Education to conduct activities in private schools and colleges at the secondary, lower secondary and connected primary levels should be conducted in accordance with the Student Admission Policy (Revised) -2021.
