Eleven people were killed and six others injured in collision between a bus and a train at Puranapail rail gate in Joypurhat sadar upazila early Saturday.
Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The rail communication between north region and others parts of the country remained suspended after the incident.
Fire Services of Joypurahat engaged in rescue operation confirmed the tragic accident.
They informed that eleven bodies were recovered from the spot. The injured six were recovered and sent to the hospital.
