12 Covid-19 deaths, 663 new cases reported in 24 hours: DGHS

A total of 12 people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours till 8:00am Thursday, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, the total number of deaths stood 27,647 and death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 663 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 15,61,319, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 2.97 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.45 percent.

A total of 22,782 samples were tested across the country during the time.

Besides, at least 664 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries stood at 15,21,775 and the recovery rate at 97.50 percent.

Mentionable, the first case of Covid-19 infection was detected in Bangladesh on last March 8, 2020 while the first death occurred on March 18.
