Dhaka: Vaccination of floating people in the capital Dhaka is starting from today, Sunday. Initially, a target has been set to vaccinate 1 crore 21 lakh people from different sections of the country. 1 lakh of them will be vaccinated. However, the Directorate of Health said that even if this number is high, they will be able to vaccinate.

The floating people vaccination will be inaugurated at Kamalapur station in Dhaka at 7 pm today. They will get one dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine. According to the list of NGOs, a special team of the directorate will vaccinate different places of Dhaka at any time of the day or night.

In this regard, the government's Corona Vaccine Management Taskforce Committee Member Secretary and Director of the Directorate of Health Shamsul Haque said that from Sunday, people floating in Dhaka and students of Qawmi Madrasa all over the country including Dhaka will be vaccinated against corona. Other communities that have been left out will also be vaccinated later.

Regarding the number of floating people vaccination management plan Dr. Shamsul Haque told the media that it is difficult to determine the number of people in this category. They are not always fixed. They live in different places at different times of the year. Even then we got a number. Their number including children is two and a half to three lakhs. If the child is left out, the vaccine will be worth one lakh. We have taken the initiative to vaccinate them. Many of them live in slums, drive rickshaws or have National Identity Card (NID) vaccines. So we have set a target of vaccinating one lakh floating people. However, there is no problem paying more than this. We have the vaccine.

"We will go to different places," he added. Depending on the place, this number is somewhere 200, somewhere 500, somewhere 1,200. The NGOs will be listed in the ward. We will vaccinate that way. I have a special opportunity for all the floating people to get vaccinated. When the NGOs are able to bring them together, whether it is night or evening, our special team will come and vaccinate. In some areas it will be available in the afternoon and then we will give it there.
