The educational institutions, which were closed due to a new type of coronavirus Omicron, are going to reopen on February 22.
This information was confirmed by Nazrul Islam, a member of the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19, after a meeting on Wednesday night (February 16).
He said that first the educational institution will be opened for the students above 12 years of age. However, after two more weeks, the school will open for students under 12 years of age.
Earlier, top officials of the education administration including the education minister held an hour long meeting with the National Technical Advisory Committee on Corona from 10 pm last night. At the meeting, it was suggested to open educational institutions.
Incidentally, the government imposed 11-point restrictions from January 13 due to Omicron. Then, on January 21, the Cabinet Division issued five new directives including closure of educational institutions. It directed to close the educational institution till February 6. Later, the government decided to extend the closure for two more weeks
