A mild tremor was felt in different parts of the country including the capital Dhaka.
On Friday (May 5) at 5:57 am, the country was shaken by an earthquake.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.2 on the Richter scale. The depth from the surface was 35 km.
No initial damage was reported. Many reported that the earthquake was felt in different parts of the capital.
However, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the magnitude of the earthquake felt at 5:57 am was 4.3 on the Richter scale. The place of origin is 14 km east south east of Dhaka's Doha. The depth of which was only 10 km.
