A delegation of 27 members, including 20 Rohingyas, left for Myanmar to see the repatriation situation in Maungdo, Rakhine State.

The members of the delegation arrived at Teknaf Jetty around 8:30 am on Friday (May 5). Around 9 in the morning they left by speedboat.

The delegation will look at how the overall situation in Rakhine is favorable for the repatriation of the displaced Rohingyas. The delegation is going to Rakhine as part of the repatriation program for displaced Rohingya citizens of Myanmar who have taken refuge in Bangladesh.

Earlier, a delegation of 17 members of the Myanmar government came to Bangladesh via Teknaf on March 15 to verify the list of Rohingyas. The delegation stayed at Teknaf land port resthouse for seven consecutive days and spoke directly to a total of 486 Rohingyas from 147 Rohingya families sheltered in Bangladesh and recorded their statements.

On the morning of March 22, the delegation crossed the Naf River and returned to Myanmar. At that time, the Myanmar delegation was asked by Bangladesh to arrange for those Rohingyas who will be repatriated to see the overall environment of Rakhine before repatriation. Following that, the Rohingya delegation has gone to Myanmar.

Delegation Chief Mohammad Mizanur Rahman said it will back by this evening.
