Dubai's famous gold trader Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan has been sentenced to 10 years by the court in the arms case.

Dhaka's Sixth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Murshid Ahmed announced the verdict on Tuesday (May 9). The court accepted the testimony of 10 out of 20 witnesses in this case.

Government counsel Hafizur Rahman Tota have sought the maximum sentence of life imprisonment for Arav Khan in the argument hearing.

Later, when the charge sheet was filed in the court, the court ordered the trial to begin on May 10, 2015 by framing the complaint against Arav Khan.

Aarav Khan escaped on bail on March 14, 2018. Later on October 24 of that year, an arrest warrant was issued against him.
