President Md. Shahabuddin directed the National Human Rights Commission to play an effective role in protecting human rights.
He gave this order when the National Human Rights Commission submitted its annual report to the President.
The head of state said that in case of violation of human rights in any part of the country, effective action should be taken immediately. He also urged the continuation of follow-up activities on all human rights violations.
A delegation of 8 members of the commission led by Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed presented the annual report to the President on Tuesday.
The President said that everyone involved in the protection of human rights should conduct activities in such a way that people understand the activities and importance of the commission.
President's press secretary Zainal Abedin said that the delegation informed the President about various aspects of the report.
President Md. Sahabuddin praised the overall activities of the National Human Rights Commission. At that time the concerned secretaries of the President were present.
