Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh has achieved success in ensuring healthcare despite the challenges of large population. Besides, food and nutrition security is being ensured here.
On Thursday (May 11) at noon, she said these things at a program related to 'Smart Bangladesh' at a hotel in the capital.
The Prime Minister said that the Awami League government has established 18,000 community clinics to ensure health care for women and children in rural areas. It is difficult to ensure food and health care for such a large number of people in a small country, but the government is doing it smoothly.
She said that doctors should give more attention to research. So that the marginalized people get primary health care easily. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister emphasized on increasing skilled manpower in medical science and medical technology.
Calling on the rich countries, the Prime Minister said that the rich countries of the world should finance to ensure universal health care. Funds should be created for this.
