Prime Minister seeks vote for boat in Rangpur public meeting

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has sought votes for her party's election symbol boat to give her another opportunity to serve the people again in the next general election. She said, "The people got the country's independence by voting for boat. The country develops only when Awami League is in power. People's fortunes have changed, electricity has reached every house and Bangladesh is moving forward with the support of Awami League."

She said these things in the divisional grand rally at Rangpur zilla school grounds on Wednesday afternoon. Rangpur District and Metropolitan Awami League organized this meeting.

The Prime Minister pointed out that Bangladesh has changed in the last 14 and a half years and said, "This changed Bangladesh will become more developed. Developing countries, followed by developed countries. I have done delta plan. In all cases, the progress of the country will continue. The youth of today will be the future of tomorrow. They will take the country forward and make it better.”

She said, only boat brand capacity really improves the country. The farmer's fortunes changed. Because there is a vote on the boat brand, electricity has gone from house to house, Bangladesh has moved forward, it will move forward. So you will give the Awami League another chance to serve you again by voting for boat. That is what I want from you.

At that time, when the Prime Minister asked everyone to raise their hands to pledge, they all raised their hands and pledged in unison.

Sheikh Hasina said that since the loss of her father, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, mother and brothers on August 15, 1975, she has considered the people of Bangladesh as her own and she is ready to sacrifice her life for the countrymen if necessary.

She said, "I have lost my parents, brothers and sisters. The people of Bangladesh, this is my family, they are my people. In you I find - the love of my parents, the love of brothers and sisters. So if it is necessary for you like a father - I am ready to give my life like a father to change the fate of the people of Bangladesh. I want to tell you that too."

The Prime Minister reached the venue around 3:30 pm. At the rally, she inaugurated 27 newly constructed development projects at a cost of over Tk. 2,000 crore and laid foundation stones for five other projects. Earlier, she reached the helipad of Rangpur cantonment by helicopter at 1:15 pm. From there she was taken to Rangpur Circuit House where he held a meeting with Rangpur divisional government officials.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Commerce Minister Tipu Munsi, Awami League Central Committee Treasurer HN Ashiqur Rahman, Organizing Secretary Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan, Rangpur District Awami League Convener AKM Sayadat Hossain Bakul and others spoke in the rally. The meeting was presided over by the convener of Rangpur Metropolitan Awami League Delwar Hossain. Senior leaders of Awami League were also present on the stage.
