The Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) of the police raided a house in the remote hilly area of Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar on the suspicion of a terrorist hideout. Meanwhile, 8 people have been arrested.
The officer-in-charge (OC) of Kulaura police station Md Abdus Saleq confirmed that the CTTC raid started at that house on Saturday (August 12) around 7 am.
Earlier, on receiving information, the house of Jugitila village of Karmadha Union number 13 of Kulaura Upazila was surrounded from 8:30 pm on Friday (August 11). There were 4 men and 4 women in the house.
Karmadha Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Muhibul Islam said that law and order forces have surrounded a newly constructed house on a hill in Baishali Bari area in East Tatti Uli village of the union. No people are allowed to enter the area due to security reasons.
