Studentship will be canceled for ragging charges: Acting Vice-Chancellor

Acting Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University (JUB) Kamaluddin Ahmed said that if anyone is involved in the crime of ragging, his/her studentship will be canceled and the parents will also be held accountable.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor said this on Sunday (September 17) at the opening ceremony of the public administration department of the university.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Kamaluddin Ahmed said on the occasion, "I have given official instructions to university students not to engage in ragging." We are following a zero tolerance policy in this regard. However, if any student is found guilty of ragging then strict disciplinary action will be taken against him. Studentship will be canceled and their parents will also be held accountable.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Kamaluddin also said, "When new students come to the university, the incidence of ragging increases." Newcomers, who come to study at university, come with many dreams. It is our responsibility to fulfill their beautiful dreams. And the senior students of the department can play an important role in this matter; the teacher representatives can give them guidance.

Deans of various faculties of the university, chairmen of departments and teachers and students were present in the program under the chairmanship of Asma binte Iqbal, chairperson of public administration department.
