The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has submitted a supplementary charge sheet against 16 people, including former MP of Laxmipur-1 Constituency MA Awal, in the case of businessman Sahinuddin being hacked to death in public.
On Sunday (September 17), Sub-Inspector Salim Reza of GR Branch of Pallabi Police Station informed the media about the filing of the charge sheet.
He said that recently the investigation officer of the case PBI Police Inspector Monir Hossain filed this charge sheet.
He further said that the charge sheet will be presented in the court soon.
The other accused in the supplementary charge sheet are Mohammad Taher, Suman Bepari, Titu Sheikh, Murad, Golam Kibria, Ibrahim Suman, Shafiqul Islam, Rocky Talukder, Noor Mohammad Hasan, Iqbal Hossain, Sharif, Taurikul Islam, Tuhin Mia, Harunur Rashid and Prateek Ahmed Sajeeb. .
On May 16, 2021, terrorists hacked father Sahinuddin to death in front of his 6-year-old son Mashrafe in Pallavi. The incident took place in front of House No. 36, Road No. 31, Section No. 12, Pallabi at 4:30 pm.
In this incident, Sahinuddin's mother Akalima filed a murder case at Pallabi police station on May 17, mentioning the names of 20 people.
In February 2022, the investigating officer of the case, Metropolitan Detective Police Inspector Syed Iftekhar Hossain filed a charge sheet accusing 15 people including MA Awal.
Being aggrieved by the charge sheet, the mother of the deceased Sahinuddin, Akalima protested against the charge sheet given by the DB police. On May 12 last year, the court allowed the appeal and directed the PBI to investigate the case.
