Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina mentioned that the government has established Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University at Lalmonirhat with emphasis on research as well as training in various developed countries of the world to create skilled manpower. So why should we stay behind, we will also go to the moon. That is how we will build smart manpower in the future.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this at the opening ceremony of the 3rd terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport(HSIA) on Saturday (October 7) morning.

She also said, due to the geographical location of Bangladesh, Bangladesh will be the hub of international air transport once Cox's Bazar or Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. We believe and that's how we want to make it.

Sheikh Hasina said that air routes are essential for the development of people's communication and trade. Seaways, railways and air are of great importance. Especially the main way and vehicle of our communication with foreign countries is the air. So we are taking it seriously and working accordingly.

She said, we will buy some new aircraft. MoU for procuring Airbus signed with France. They will also give us some loans. I have plans to arrange inter-district air connectivity.

Stating that her government has a plan to build a new runway in Shahjalal in the context of future passenger growth, the head of government said that it was her strong desire that the plane would take off near the sea water in Cox's Bazar. That is how the runway of Cox's Bazar is being built.

She said construction work is going on in Shahjalal despite the Covid-19 pandemic. We have installed the terminal within 4 years. We are also arranging for Z Fuel to arrive directly at Shahjalal Airport.

The Prime Minister said that today the whole world is worried about the impact of climate change. We have made 'Delta Plan-2100' aiming at that. In 2021, it got the status of developing country from least developed country. The journey of developing countries will begin in 2026. Our aim is to build a 'Smart Bangladesh' with the aim of what Bangladesh will look like in 2041.
