Work on specific plans for the development of the country: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina termed the new BCS officers as the 'core soldiers of building Smart Bangladesh in 2041' and directed them to ensure continuous and sustainable development of the country.

She said, you (new BCS officials) should be vigilant so that every development of the country is continuous and sustainable, for which specific plans should be worked out.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this while addressing as the chief guest at the certificate distribution and closing ceremony of the 75th foundation training course of BCS officers at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Sunday morning.

She inaugurated the buildings and 'Government Employment Management System-GEMS' software under 5 projects and programs under the Ministry of Public Administration from the event.

Pointing out that she has no demands in her personal life, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "We have only one desire, one dream, which my father saw for the people of this country." Changing people's destiny and improving their quality of life. As much as I have done so far for the future, that is my only request to everyone.

She said that by working day and night, we have brought Bangladesh to the place where Bangladesh should not lag behind.

The Prime Minister said, today we are facing global economic recession, inflation, some problems. Many people talk about reserve - I say there is nothing to worry about reserve. We don't care as long as I have food in my shell.

Reiterating her call to bring every inch of uncultivated land under cultivation, she said, "We will grow our crops, eat our own food, we will do little if not shopping or spending." But we have to go on with the dignity of my own country.

She said, today's officers will be the main craftsmen and soldiers of Bangladesh in ‘41. We will not be there then. But let the country move forward. I just want that.

The Prime Minister handed over 'Merit Certificate' to 30 meritorious students out of 602 trainees of 19 Cadre Services who successfully completed the course and distributed 'Dignity Medal' to three.

Tahsin binte Anis won Rector's Medal for topping the 75th Foundation Training Course held for 6 months.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain and senior secretary of the concerned ministry Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion. Besides, four students spoke on behalf of the participants of the 75th Foundation Training Course.

Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC) Rector Md Ashraf Uddin announced the final results of the 75th Foundation Training Course and administered the oath to the trainees.

Two separate videos of the 75th Foundation Training Course and the projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister were screened at the event.

The projects are-Government Employment Management System (GEMS), 500 -bed Government Employees Hospital, Newly constructed Tangail Circuit House, Newly constructed Cumilla Circuit House and 15 storey modern dormitory building of BPATC.
