Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, Bangladesh does not side with war, but with peace and we want all the countries that are supposed to play an effective role in de-escalating the Iran-Israel tension and stop the Israeli killings in Gaza.

He said this on Sunday (April 14) evening at the state guest house Padma in the capital when reporters questioned him about the incident of Iranian missiles being fired across Israel including Tel Aviv, West Jerusalem on Saturday night in retaliation for the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria.

At the same time, the minister Dr. Hasan said, because Israel attacked the Iranian embassy in Syria, Iran got the opportunity to attack, otherwise it would not have happened, Iran has 'retaliated' - that's what Iran says. He said, "We hope that all the countries that are supposed to play a role will immediately take effective measures to resolve the Iran-Israel tension and stop the indiscriminate killing of people in Gaza." We are never for war, we are for peace.

The foreign minister wished the journalists present on Bengali New Year. In another question about the rescue of the kidnapped Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah, he said that the hostage sailors and the ship were safely rescued as soon as possible due to the all-out efforts of the government and those concerned. The ship proceeded 100 nautical miles towards the UAE. A European Union ship accompanied the MV Abdullah. Thanks to everyone as well as the KSRM group, they were also very active.
