Dhaka: The policemen were outraged by the killing of a policeman by an angry mob in the uprising. They announced work-stoppage on 11-point demands, including the announcement of public police to stop political use. After 5 days of the agitation, the agitating policemen announced the withdrawal of the work-stoppage. In that meeting, it was decided to change the police uniform and logo.
On Sunday (August 11) afternoon, a delegation of agitating policemen held a meeting with the adviser at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
In the meeting, some of the 11-point demands of the police were assured to be fulfilled soon. But other demands will be met in the long run. According to the decision of the meeting, no attack on the police can be carried out from now on. Any complaint against any member of the police should be reported to the superior officers.
Home Advisor M Sakhawat Hossain said that police uniforms and logos will be changed. Many of the police are heartbroken. The police don't want to work in this uniform anymore. It will be changed very soon. These issues will be discussed in the cabinet meeting. Then the decision will be made.
