Relations with India will not be damaged even if Hasina is not returned: Adviser
Interim government's foreign affairs advisor Md. Towhid Hossain said that bilateral relations between the two countries will not be affected even if Sheikh Hasina is not sent back from India.
He made this comment in response to a question from journalists at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday (January 01) afternoon.
Towhid Hossain said that efforts to return Sheikh Hasina to the country and mutually beneficial relations with India will continue together. This will not create any problem.
At this time, the foreign affairs adviser also said that a safe environment is needed to return the Rohingyas to their own country. Otherwise, they will not want to return. An attempt will be made to face diplomatic challenges in the New Year.
When asked about contacting the Arakan Army at this time, the foreign affairs adviser wanted to give an answer.
A diplomatic letter was recently sent from the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi to the Indian Foreign Ministry seeking the return of Sheikh Hasina under the extradition agreement. Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry said that Bangladesh will wait for India's letter to get Sheikh Hasina back. The next step will be taken after receiving the letter's reply from India.
Meanwhile, at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the interim government's foreign affairs adviser Md. Towhid Hossain is going to Beijing in the third week of January. This will be his first bilateral visit. The adviser told reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday (January 1).

He said, "The Foreign Secretary has called for an inter-ministerial meeting, where we will discuss what can be achieved. And what issues can we get solutions from them."
