We political parties are engaged in conflict with each other: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, we political parties are engaged in conflict with each other. We talk about democracy but do not practice democracy. It will not work if you think negatively.
He said this as the chief guest at the golden jubilee program of the Economics Department of Dinajpur Government College on Friday (January 3) morning.
He said, we have to practice democracy through tolerance and move forward. Only then can democracy be established. Democratic institutions have not been developed in Bangladesh, but rather democracy has been killed here day after day. Democratic institutions have not been allowed to be established.
Regretfully, Mirza Fakhrul said, what a sad time has passed, we could not vote. In 15 years, generation after generation does not know what voting is. They could not vote. Fascism seized power for 3 consecutive terms, created fear in the country, tortured and oppressed the people. They looted the country's resources. In the last 15 years, the fascists have laundered 280 billion dollars.
Presided over by the acting head of the Department of Economics, Professor Zaheda Parvin, former principals Professor Golam Rabbani, Professor Abdul Jabbar, Professor Md. Idris Mia spoke. Former colleagues and former students were present at the event.
It is worth noting that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir taught in the Department of Economics at Dinajpur Government College from 1972 to 1978. Along with teaching, he served with great sports and cultural acclaim.
