The chief prosecutor of the tribunal, Advocate Tajul Islam, said that a judge will be appointed to the International Crimes Tribunal for the trial of the July-August genocide surrounding the anti-discrimination movement.

He said this while talking to the media on Sunday (October 13). Although it was a holiday, the members held a meeting at the organization's Dhanmondi office. Strict secrecy is being followed so that no one else accused can leave the country.

Advocate Tajul Islam said, if the judge is appointed, the arrest warrant and ban on leaving the country will be sought against the accused in the July massacre.

He said, along with seeking arrest warrants for Awami League president Sheikh Hasina, the fugitive accused will also be assisted by Interpol.

It should be noted that more than 60 complaints including enforced disappearance, murder, genocide have been submitted to the International Criminal Tribunal against Sheikh Hasina, Awami League, 14 party leaders and former top officials of law and order forces.

Although the investigation team and the prosecution team were appointed, the appointment of judge is pending. On last Thursday (October 10) law adviser Asif Nazrul said that the judges will sit in the court this week. The trial process will begin.
