Hasan Arif to be buried at Mirpur Intellectuals' Graveyard on Monday
The family has decided to bury AF Hasan Arif, the adviser to the interim government's Ministry of Land, Civil Aviation and Tourism, at the Mirpur Intellectuals' Graveyard on Monday (December 23).
Hasan Arif's son Muaz Arif gave this information on Saturday (December 21) afternoon. He said that the body will be kept in the hospital's cold storage for now. His father (Hasan Arif) will be buried at the Mirpur Intellectuals' Graveyard on December 23. However, the time has not been decided yet.
Meanwhile, Hasan Arif's third namaz-e-janaza was held at the Secretariat premises at 12 noon. His second namaz-e-janaza was held at the Supreme Court's Inner Garden at 11 am.
Earlier, on Friday, the first namaz-e-janaza was held at Baitul Aman Mosque, Dhanmondi No. 7, in the capital after Isha. It was attended by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus and important state figures. AF Hasan Arif breathed his last at Lab Aid Hospital in the capital at 3:10 pm today.
Hasan Arif was in charge of the Ministry of Lands and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism as an adviser to the interim government. He also served as the adviser to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the then interim government from January 2008 to January 2009. He served as the Attorney General of Bangladesh from October 2001 to April 2005.
AF Hasan Arif was born on July 10, 1941 in Kolkata. He started his professional career as a lawyer in the Kolkata High Court in 1967. He was enrolled as an advocate of the then East Pakistan High Court in 1970 and has been practicing law as an advocate of the country's highest court continuously since then.
