Gano Forum wants free and fair elections after state reforms

Chairman of the coordination committee of the party Mustafa Mohsin Montu said that the Gano forum is in favor of free and fair national elections as soon as possible after the reform of the state.

He gave this information to reporters after a meeting with the chief adviser on Saturday (October 19) afternoon.

In the interest of protecting this government, i.e. in the interest of protecting ourselves, we have to hold fair elections in the future.

He said, we will give full support to the government. He (Chief Adviser) will seek our assistance in any matter. We will suggest what we understand. The chief adviser told us that the door is open to the public.

Crores of money that have been smuggled should be brought back. The country's economy is in crisis. Everyone has to work together to overcome it. It is not a party mentality, but national consensus should be advanced.

Mustafa Mohsin Montu said that the election has been discussed and said that a free and fair election commission should be made, for this there is a need to do a search committee or something, there is a need to appoint good people. So that there is no problem like in the past.

On the question whether the roadmap has been discussed - Mustafa Mohsin Montu said, we have not mentioned any date. Said the reforms are over to give early elections. But if reforms are not completed, everything will be the same, I am Ram before the election, I am Ravana after the election. I don't want that kind of election commission. I want a commission for free and fair elections.

On the question whether he has proposed to amend the constitution, he said, I will discuss it in two days and give it in written form. Eight days have been canceled, there was no discussion about it, Mustafa Mohsin Montu said in response, no day should be kept except the National Day.

Stating that the dialogue has been fruitful, Member Secretary of the Gano Forum Coordinating Committee, Mizanur Rahman said, "In the meeting, I have given suggestions on several issues including election system, increase and control of commodity prices, restoration of law and order and reform of the Independent Election Commission. Mizanur Rahman said that the government accepted it as positive. Mizanur Rahman said that the written proposal regarding the commission formed by the government will be submitted to the chief advisor's office within a few days.
