Law enforcement officers have arrested more than 50 students who entered the secretariat demanding that the results of the failed HSC and equivalent exams be canceled and the results be re-printed and published.

They were arrested at 3:50 pm on Wednesday (October 23) and taken to two police prison vans.

Earlier, more than 100 students entered the secretariat around 2:50 pm. They were later dispersed by the army and police. The students were protesting demanding the re-evaluation of the results of the HSC and equivalent exams and correction of errors in the results.

The protesting students kept chanting slogans like 'There is no place for discrimination in my golden Bengal; We want justice, there is no place for discrimination in my enchanted Bengal, who are you and who are the students; no compromise, no struggle, no struggle, no struggle'.

Meanwhile, members of the Bangladesh Army and various law enforcement agencies on duty at the secretariat called on the agitating students to stop chanting slogans and hold peaceful discussions.
